The project placed contemporary dance at the forefront in an unexpected context, created over a short period and under tight time constraints. This time, choreographer Karine Ledoyen set out to explore the world of songwriting by connecting with artists through the songs that linger in their minds and spark an irresistible desire to dance. The intention was not to make the singers dance, but rather to enter the universe of each song through choreography imagined like music videos or living tableaux.
Songwriters DEE, Jérôme Minière, Monsieur Mono, Dumas and Alexandre Désilets each performed three pieces from their repertoire, creating a full evening of fifteen songs. They enthusiastically rose to the challenge—despite the extremely limited rehearsal time.
Joined by an in-house band assembled especially for the event and eight dancers, the five musicians took over the stage of Le National for one unforgettable night. The result: pure exhilaration, surprise and a joyful collision between dance and song.
