In the winter of 2021, Danse K par K created a fertile playground for the development of two new solos, inviting dance artists Jean-François Duke and Odile-Amélie Peters, each paired with a musician from Les Violons du Roy. Guided by the pure enchantment of being able to practice their craft, the performers excel in their art and offer a sensitive, intimate performance.
For each duo, the same rules of the game applied: a choreographer-performer meets a musician-performer for thirty hours of creation, encounter and exchange. Two artists invent together, daring to assume, sometimes for the first time, a creative responsibility rather than simply a performative one. A dialogue emerges, a playful, ever-shifting creative space takes shape, while live music breathes life into the dance, all under the artistic direction of Karine Ledoyen.
From these unprecedented encounters, short pieces emerge where live music breathes life into the dance.
