About the Artists
Mecdy Jean-Pierre
Choreographer and performer
An artist with explosive qualities, Mecdy is a street dancer, dance teacher, performer, soloist and choreographer. He has travelled the world to innovate and enrich his artistic practice. These various exchanges led him to co-found Symbiotic Monsters, a collective of ten artists known for its strong presence in Montréal’s dance community, and to represent Canada in multiple competitions around the globe.

His practice integrates highly conscious movement and emulation, influenced by African dance, martial arts and sacred geometry. He has worked with numerous dance companies, including Cirque du Soleil, Blueprint Dance Company, 100lux, Hélène Simard and Tentacle Tribe, and has appeared in several dance films such as Sur le Rythme, Step Up: All Inand Full Out.
