Ready-to-wear solos, summer collection

➮ Bring the Solos in your city
➮ Explore the Fall Collection
After presenting the original concept of Ready-to-Wear Solos, Fall Collection, in Quebec, Ontario and Morocco, Danse K par K now debuts its all-new Summer Collection.
Each cinematographic work, lasting 3 minutes, is a reinterpretation of a dance solo originally created as part of Osez! Solo 2020. Now in front of a camera lens, new life is given to performances by Louise Bédard, Stacey Désilier, Mecdy Jean-Pierre, Jessica Serli and James Viveiros, who skilfully intertwine the poetry of contemporary dance with the power of a natural environment.
What Is Ready-to-Wear Solos?
Created in the autumn of 2020, the Ready-to-Wear Solos concept invites the public to view the presentation of these short dance films in a totally intimate way: using the palms of their hands as a screen. “The idea is very simple, and contains the lyricism of a marvellous device. Spectators stop at a specific spot on the sidewalk, and by depositing a little snow on their mittens, their hands become the screen for the film,” explains Karine Ledoyen. To accompany the experience, each film is associated with a podcast that includes a soundtrack and a short interview with the artistic team.
