A History of the Osez! Project
Initiated in 2002, the Osez! project was developed by Choreographer Karine Ledoyen and presented by Danse K par K until 2005. With a run of nine years on the docks of Québec and Europe, its immense popular success brought together 300 artists and was seen by 14,000 spectators from around the world. This project has had a significant impact on the development and popularization of dance in Québec.

From 2002 to 2010

Osez! is presented every summer on a dock or close to water. Choreographer Karine Ledoyen invites a musician and between sixteen and twenty-five dancers (according to the edition) who in the same day must create a new choreographic draft together. A minimum of 20 minutes of their creation is presented the same evening for a public on a dock at sunset. The process is repeated for five consecutive days on the same dock.

Night after night, spectators can watch the choreographic essay Osez! evolve.

Return of the Osez! Project

As part of the festivities for the opening of La Maison pour la danse, La table de danse de la Conseil de la culture announces a major event that will bring together many actors from the field of contemporary dance in Québec City. Intended for the general public and produced and directed by La table de danse, Osez! will be held from September 5 to 9, 2017 in the new spaces of La Maison pour la danse and led by Choreographer Karine Ledoyen.

It is with great pleasure that the event is again renewed for 2018.

Spread over five days and using local talent, this original production brings together six choreographers, a group of twenty two dancers and one Sound Designer. The dancers, led by a different a choreographer each day, will present a 30-minute show before an audience.
