Danse K par K is taking advantage of French choreographer Emmanuelle Huynh’s visit to Québec to invite her to offer a workshop to the contemporary dance community in Québec City.

The artistic concerns of Emmanuelle Huynh resonate with those of choreographer Karine Ledoyen. The two artist-researchers first met through an invitation from the Canada Research Chair in Creation for a Sound Dramaturgy in Theatre at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC).

The workshop offered by Emmanuelle Huynh focuses on the practice of space, bodily engagement, and compositional tools.

We will begin with a proprioceptive warm-up that places special emphasis on vision, touch, and weight. The work will alternate between individual exploration, partnering, and group exercises, gradually shifting toward a danced experimentation.
In the second part of the session, we will focus on entering the space, shaping a landscape or an image within it, sensing its duration, and fostering its transformation.
