A beam of light aimed at the ground, caught mid-air by the viewer. A shimmering dance solo comes alive within a grandiose landscape, distilled into a miniature scale. The experience becomes intimate; the digital takes on a sensitive, exhilarating dimension. These are the Ready-to-Wear Solos.

Ready-to-Wear Solos is a series of short choreographic films shot in striking natural environments. By embracing the cinematic medium, Danse K par K offers a reinterpretation of works created by choreographers from Québec and Montréal, originally developed for Osez! en solo in urban, in-situ settings.

Ready-to-Wear Solos is also a video installation that invites the public to receive the projection of these films in a completely intimate way: by using the palms of their hands, a book, or the floor as a screen. Each film is paired with a soundtrack transmitted through headphones to accompany the experience.

The solos unfold in two series, two distinct artistic seasons: the Summer Collection and the Fall Collection.

“The idea, simple as it is, carries the lyricism of a marvellous device. The viewer stops in a precise spot and becomes the receptacle of the work.”

Karine Ledoyen
